It all likelihood, the Blankenship Bridge, over the North Fork, will be closed all day Friday for repairs. There’s been a 5-ton weight restriction on the bridge since late last month when a routine inspection found some issues that needed further evaluation.
On Friday, Helena-based Missouri River Contractors/Frontier West will perform repairs to a 3-inch crack found at the base of a beam. They think they can get it done be 5:00 Friday afternoon. Cost to the County: $6,775.
Once the repairs are complete, the Montana Department of Transportation will inspect the bridge to determine if the 5-ton weight limit can be lifted.
