Montana Secretary of State Christi Jacobsen assures us that the problems with the Early Electronic Absentee Ballots sent overseas has been solved and that, it has nothing to do with our normal General Election ballots.
That error–first reported in the Daily Inter Lake, omitted the name Kamala Harris…only Donald Trump and Robert F Kennedy Jr’s names were listed for President. Those ballots went out early last Friday morning and, Jacobsen says, voting was shut-down by 8:00 that morning when the error was reported to the Flathead County Elections Office by a resident living temporarily in England.
The Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act is used by about 350-eligible citizens living abroad, giving them access to their voting privileges in the US.
By Friday afternoon, the system was back up again with correct ballots in place and voting has resumed. Here in America, our State’s Absentee Ballots will be mailed on Friday, October 11th. The General Election is on Tuesday, November 5th.
