The Kalispell City Council is poised to make a decision on the fate of the Flathead Warming Center at their meeting tonight, beginning at 7:00. What’s at stake is the Warming Center’s Conditional Use Permit, which allows them to exist in their current location on North Meridian Road.
In 2-previous meetings, the Council took-in testimony and following both meetings, decided to table any action until tonight’s meeting. In the interim, the parties have been meeting, facilitated by former Kalispell Schools Superintendent Mark Flatau to try to come to a consensus. The Council will review documents regarding those meetings and, we’re told may choose to take some sort of action on the Conditional Use Permit.
The Council will also take-up on on second reading and vote on the proposed Planned Unit Development for the property where KGEZ once stood, now the Gardner and Anderson Ranch property at 2995 Hwy 93 South.
