In this month’s General Elections, Flathead County set a record for voter turn-out. For 2024, just over 64,000 ballots were cast…4000-more than just 4-years ago and 15,000-more than 8-years ago.
Let’s drill-down into the stats. In Flathead County, there are just over 84,330-registered voters–over 71,500–or 89.5%, were active in the last election. The breakdown: 79.3% were cast by Absentee ballots, a little less than 20% cast their votes at the Polls. There were 1,123 Provisional ballots cast, just shy of 2%.
Of those who chose to vote Absentee, 95% returned their ballots. There were 399-ballots ejected because of lack of signature or incorrect signatures. The post-election hand-count showed a variance of just 1-ballot.
