CWD has reached Flathead County with the discovery of an infected buck at the Flathead County Landfill last week. And so, following FWP’s CWD Management Plan, Deer-B licenses are being issued, both online and at retail outlets. The Deer B license allows the harvest of an additional white-tail–either antlerless or with antlers more that 4-inches long, measured from the skull.
Your harvested animal must be tested within 10-days. It’s strongly recommended that you not consume the meat until the test-results come back. The testing applies to both white-tail and mule der, elk and moose. Please do not donate the meat to a food bank until you’re certain the animal hasn’t been infected with CWD
