Flathead County Welcomes Five New Reserve Deputies at Swearing-In and Graduation Ceremony

Last night, Flathead County celebrated a significant milestone as five new Reserve Deputies were sworn in during a public ceremony. The new deputies—Todd Clark, Jennifer Rehbien, Todd Schleusner, Cameron Mitchell, and Conrad Rauscher—officially joined the ranks of the county’s dedicated law enforcement team.

Becoming a Reserve Deputy is no small feat. The rigorous seven-month training program required of these individuals is both demanding and comprehensive. Throughout their training, they participated in coursework at Flathead Valley Community College (FVCC), engaged in supplemental group classes, and completed extensive patrol field training. Additionally, they contributed numerous volunteer hours, culminating in over 220 hours of intensive preparation.

The Reserve Deputy program, also known as “the Posse,” is a vital component of the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office. This volunteer division comprises men and women committed to serving and protecting their community. The Posse members play a crucial role in maintaining order at local events and supporting the Sheriff’s Office in various capacities.

The swearing-in ceremony last night marked the culmination of months of hard work and dedication by these new deputies. Their graduation underscores the strong commitment of Flathead County to ensure a well-trained and effective law enforcement presence, bolstering community safety and engagement.

As the new deputies take their oaths, the Sheriff’s Office and the entire Flathead community look forward to their contributions and the positive impact they will undoubtedly have.
