The importance of PILT funds–Payments in Lieu of Taxes, for Flathead County cannot be overemphasized. Like most years, this year Flathead County received $3,773,944. Most of that money goes into our Capital Improvements funds, saving local taxpayers millions of dollars over the years.
Flathead County Commissioner Randy Brodehl is in Washington, DC for the 2024 Intergovernmental Forum on Public Lands and PILT. Today, he’ll be meeting Congressional Delegations from both the House & Senate. Then, tomorrow, he’ll be making a presentation to the entire Forum on the importance of these PILT funds and what they mean to us in Flathead County.
