The Kalispell City Council meets in regular session Tuesday night, having observed Monday’s Martin Luther King, Jr Holiday. First up, the Council spends some money: $250,000 to remodel the Police Evidence Building–the former Parks & Rec Offices on 1st Avenue East.
Next, they’ll vote to purchase Ford Ambulance Chassis & Box-Remount. Osage Ambulance Body will be remounted by Sawtooth Emergency Vehicles for $212,700. The City owns 3-ambulances…the oldest at 2016 model. The plan is to mount the ambulance portion onto a new vehicle–the 2025 Ford Chassis. The oldest ambulance in the fleet, a 2006-model will be retired and traded-in.
Council members are asked to approve a Professional Services Agreement to begin planning updates to the Wastewater Facility on Airport Road.
Responding to citizen concerns about the abandoned Outlaw Inn, on Hwy 93 South, City Manager Doug Russell has designed changes to the City’s Fire Code. If approved by the Council, the ordinance will make unsafe, insecure, unsanitary or deficient structures eligible for condemnation and removal. It should be noted that this ordinance–if passed, will apply to any building deemed to be a nuisance a reasonable amount of time to correct the problem.
