As happens in all televised debates, both sides claim victory. Yesterday afternoon’s debate with Gov. Greg Gianforte & Ryan Busse is no exception.

“Today, Governor Greg Gianforte showed he’s the only serious candidate in the race for governor.” She says, “After 16 years of Democrat rule, the governor delivered the largest tax cuts and property tax rebates in state history, expanded access to more than 100,000 acres of public lands, secured record-breaking job and wage growth, and much more. Montanans deserve four more years of strong, conservative leadership to address the problems facing Montana.”
Busse Campaign Manager Aaron Murphy tells us, “Governor Greg Gianforte relied heavily on his court-mandated anger management training during his only debate with Ryan Busse.
He says “Busse aggressively (and repeatedly) attacked Gianfort’s devastatingly unpopular property tax increase throughout the hourlong debate. Gianforte jacked up property taxes by as much as 111% while giving tax breaks to millionaires and billionaires. Only Montana’s governor is responsible for enacting the state’s residential property tax rate, no matter how many times Gianforte tries to falsely blame counties and local governments.
