Kalispell City Council Meeting Results

In its meeting Monday night, the Kalispell City Council took action that could result in more Workforce Housing in the downtown. The Council voted to accept the Legislature’s definition of workforce housing as households making between 60% and 140% of the area median income. Prior, the Downtown Plan and WestSide Urban Renewal/Core Area Plan didn’t include workforce housing. And so, projects eligible for Tax Increment Financing will be for households making between $53,040 and $123,760. The Feds say our area median income in Kalispell is $88,400. The Council authorized City Manager Doug Russell to enter into a new lease agreement with the Kalispell Golf Association for a 30-year lease on the Buffalo Hill Golf Course. What will likely follow are some major improvements to one of the area’s premier golf courses. Kalispell now has 2-more firefighter/paramedics with the confirmations of Chris Albrecht and Will Watson.
