West Reserve Construction Delays

It’s becoming clear that traffic along West Reserve in Kalispell is going to get worse before it gets better…but we’re told it will get better. Throughout the summer, the Montana Department of Transportation and City engineers have begun the process of widening West Reserve to 5-lanes, a shared-use path and improved traffic signals between Hutton Ranch and the Whitefish Stage Roads.

Appearing on the KGEZ Good Morning Show, Kalispell Rep. Courtenay Sprunger tells us a project like this requires a lot of money.  She carried the “Safer Act” through the last Legislature, which put money into the grants programs to match Federal funds, bringing a little over $8-millions to the project.

For the rest of us, the work get serious with land shifts and detours most anytime during daylight hours.
