In Bigfork, they’ve been doing without their Bridge Street Bridge for over a year, but there’s an end to that in sight. The Montana Department of Transportation has been working at lightning speed to replace the bridge with one that maintains the historic look of the original that is pushing 100-years old.
A lot of design work has been done and on Thursday, MDT is ready to unveil the results in a Community Open House at Bigfork High School. Nothing formal…just arrive at your convenience between 4:30 and 7:00. There will be people there to answer your questions.
In addition, a slide-show depicting the history of the bridge has been created by the Bigfork Art & Cultural Center. There will even be bridge-themed giveaways and activities for children. You’re encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item as a donation to the Bigfork Food Bank.
