A Friday night crash in Downtown Kalispell has left a Deputy Sheriff and a reserve officer injured. Both are recovering from their injuries today.
The crash happened Fright Night at 1st Avenue West and 2nd Street. The Deputy’s vehicle was northbound, going through the intersection on a green light when another vehicle traveling west on 2nd Street West ran the red light. The crash was severe-enough to activate both of the vehicle’s airbags.
Initial investigation indicates the driver of the vehicle traveling on 2nd Street West may have been using his cellphone and was distracted, running the red light.
