It was a windy Sunday afternoon when four people canoed and kayaked out to Wildhorse Island. Trouble is, when they attempted to return to the mainland, the water was too rough for their small crafts. They were marooned on Wildhorse Island.
It took three Flathead Search & Rescue team members to launch their boat, braving the rough waters to the island. They found the stranded people–wet and cold, getting them back to a safe spot to board the rescue craft. Everyone was in stable condition when they reached the mainland.
