Montana Department of Agriculture’s New Director

Governor Greg Gianforte has chosen Jillien Streit (pictured) of Chester as the next Director of the Montana Department of Agriculture. She comes to the position after being finalcial controller at Flat Acre Farms in Chester. 10-years ago, she founded Stricks Ag, a merchandiser of high-quality, high-demand grains. The Governor says, “I look forward to working with her to advance the interest of farmers and ranchers across our state.” Streit tells us, “Agriculture drives our economy and is the backbone of our rural communities.” She’s a past president of the Hill-Liberty-Blaine County Farm Bureau a member of the Montana Pulse Crop Committee. A native of Chester, she and her husband run a 5th generation family farm and have three children.
