It’s been a long search but now it looks like Columbia Falls has a new City Manager. He is Eric Hanks, a retired Navy Captain. He was the commanding officer at the Naval Air Station on Whidbey Island, north of Seattle. A native of Louisiana, he and his wife, Renee, begin their time in Columbia Falls on Monday, April 1st.
Columbia Falls has been without a city manager for about a year with the retirement of long-time city manager, Susan Nicosea. They had settled on several candidates only to be disappointed when they didn’t work out.
Interim city manager, Clint Peters, who recently retired as the city’s police chief, was also a candidate for the permanent position.
