High Speed Chase Turns Up Drug Pusher

We have a better idea why 39-year old Eric Appl started his high-speed chase through the streets of Kalispell on November 5th. Investigators found a stash of meth, which they say he intended to distribute. that’s a felony and it adds to the charges already pending, including Parole Violation, Criminal Endangerment and Criminal Possession of Dangerous Drugs. It all came unwound for Appl around 11:30 that Tuesday morning when police turned-on the red and blues on East Idaho Street. The Officer recognized Appl as someone who has several warrants out for his arrest. So instead of stopping, he stepped on the gas. He led police through residential neighborhoods, past schools and eventually in front of the Flathead County Fairgrounds, where people were lining-up to vote on Election Day. He even tried to flee on foot, but that hasn’t worked out well for perps in the past, and it didn’t work for Eric Appl. Police found over 3-grams of what appeared to to meth, along with the baggies needed to sell the stuff. Eric Appl is sitting it out in the Flathead County Detention Center with bail set at $200,000. He’ll be back in court again after the new year, January 27th.
