The construction going on in Many Glacier will require a temporary shuttle service next summer. Replacing the water system in the Swiftcurrent development area requires extensive work on the roadway into Many Glacier. People staying at the Many Glacier Hotel can still drive in, but parking will be limited, so for hikers the shuttle service will be ideal.
To access the hiker shuttle service, you’ll need a reservation through Recreation dot gov. With that, parking will be available at several pull-outs near the entrance to the Many Glacier Road. From there, the shuttle will pick up hikers for the 15 to 30-minute ride into Swiftcurrent Valley.
Swiftcurrent Motor Inn and the Many Glacier Campground is closed until mid-May 2026. All waters in the area will be closed to personal watercraft all next summer.
