Many Flathead County residents aren’t happy with Avelo Airlines $150-million contract with ICE to fly deportees from Mesa, Arizona to El Salvador. They made their displeasure known last weekend at Glacier Park International Airport, urging all of us to boycott the airline.
Avelo flies out of Kalispell to Sonoma, Arizona and Burbank, California during the summer months. Those flights are expected to begin again in the next few days, something GPIA says isn’t happening until then. The airport says it has no control over what the airlines do outside of their flights out of here.
Avelo Airlines tells us the charter flights in question operate out of Mesa and are not related to their commercial operations.
