In just a few days, the ballots will be on the way as voters decide whether to fund a new Flathead County Public Safety Building with a $105-million bond issue.
But a new question is being discussed by the Kalispell Planning commission Tuesday night. Should Kalispell annex the land where the new facility would be built?
Flathead County is requesting annexation and the zoning of the 33+ acres on Snowline Lane, which is now vacant. This would give the new facility city water, sewer and fire protection services. The current zoning is Suburban and Industrial, making the P-1 zoning consistent with the City’s Growth Policy. A traffic impact study recommends improvements at the intersection of Hwy 93 and Snowline Lane.
If the proposal passed the Planning Commission, it goes to the full City Council.
