Woodland Water Park’s Lazy River and Waterslide is closed for the rest of the season, which isn’t that far into the future…Saturday, August 16th.
Turns out some algae has grown up inside the water feature, causing the chlorine stabilizer to lose effectiveness. Parks & Rec Dir. Chad Fincher tells us they’ll need to drain the pool, clean the algae from the sides and fill it back up…and that’ll pretty-much take them up to closing date.
That’s not the only challenge this year. Fincher says they usually hire about 50 lifeguards. This year, they were only able to hire and train 20.
Fincher tells us the main pool will remain open through the end of the season.
