With Municipal Elections just weeks away, voters will be deciding on the direction Kalispell takes as we elect a new mayor and half a City Council which will, in turn, hire a new City Manager. With that, interest is begins to appear from organizations endorsing candidates. We now have several.
For Mayor, the Discover Kalispell Chamber has endorsed Kisa Davison. Ryan Hunter has picked-up endorsements from the Senior Voter Action Fund and Big Sky 55+. Sid Daoud is being endorsed by former Congressman Matt Rosendale.
For City Council, Ward 3 candidate Kyle Waterman has the endorsement of the Discover Kalispell Chamber. In Ward 1, incumbent Sandy Carlson is challenged by Wes Walker. Ward 3 has a 3-way race going: Kyle Waterman, Wes Gardner and Kyle Voigtlander. Incumbent Jed Fisher, in Ward 4, is challenged by Bruce Guthrie.
In Columbia Falls, Council Members Jenny Lovering and Mike Shepard are not seeking reelection, but Paula Robinson is. Her challengers are Christopher Semok, Beth McBride, Hannah Pennington and Marijke Stob. The top-3 vote-getters gets the gigs in this at-large election.
Same thing in Whitefish where Council Members Guiseppe Caltabiano, Ben Davis and Andy Feury face newcomer Nathan Dugan.
This is an all mail-in ballot election beginning Friday, October 17th with election day Tuesday, November 4th.
