The Kalispell City Council meets in regular session Monday night in Council Chambers at City Hall. There are several land-use issues that will be decided and some money that needs to be spent. But before all that, the City Council is asked to accept a grant from the ALERT/Betty Woods Foundation: $1,600 to purchase additional sizes of neonatal restraints so that infants can be safely transported. Part of the funds raised by the ALERT/Betty Woods Golf Tournament goes to medical equipment for the area’s ambulance services.
With the new homes and businesses in the northwest portions of the city, the sewer system needs additional capacity. Lift Station 36 was designed to service Silverbrook Estates but with the growth of the surrounding area, the Lift Station needs to double its capacity. That will cost $144,322.
The Council will decide if they want to amend the Growth Police to allow the annexation of property including The Reserve at Johnson Ranch along Stillwater Road and the zone change to allow for it to become a residential area.
And finally, the Council will vote to change the next Work Session — on August 11th — to a Regular Session so that business can be conducted.
