The Arthur Rambo Bridge, over the Kooetani River on Hwy 37 will be dedicated Sunday afternoon near Libby. It’s the result of Senate Bill 59, carried by Sen. Mike Cuffe, a Republican from Eureka.
Staff Sergeant Rambo, was killed-in-action in Vietnam on Thanksgiving day, 1969. He was posthumously awarded the Silver Star, Bronze Star, Purple Heart, and the Vietnamese Presidential Citation, left behind a legacy of bravery. He was killed in a mortar attack and was buried the day before his 25th birthday.
His family established the Arthur J. Rambo Memorial Scholarship 56-years ago.
