The competition is on as Kalispell, Whitefish and Columbia Falls decide who’ll be running their cities for the next 4 years. We’ll be listening and asking questions of the candidates this summer and into the fall. Municipal Elections are November 4th.
In Kalispell, there’s a three-way race for Mayor: Ryan Hunter, Sid Daoud and Kisa Davison.
Only City Council Ward 2 candidate Lisa Blank is running unchallenged for the seat held by Council President Chad Graham, who is leaving the Council at the end of this term.
In Ward 1, incumbent Sandy Carlson is challenged by Wes Walker. Ward 3 has a three-way race going: Kyle Waterman, Wes Gardner and Kyle Voigtlander. Incumbent Jed Fisher in Ward 4 is challenged by Bruce Guthrie.
In Columbia Falls, Mayor Don Barnhart is unchallenged moving into his fifth term.
Council positions in both Whitefish and Columbia Falls are at-large, so the top vote getters get the gigs.
In Columbia Falls, Council Members Jenny Lovering and Mike Shepard are not seeking reelection, but Paula Robinson is. Her challengers are Christopher Semok, Beth McBride, Hannah Pennington and Marijke Stob.
Current Whitefish Council Members Guiseppe Caltabiano, Ben Davis and Andy Feury, and newcomer Nathan Dugan are in the race.
