Gov. Greg Gianforte has signed a law that states that there are only 2-sexes in Montana…Male and Female. To GOP Legislators, this, apparently, isn’t as obvious as it would seem. They passed a bill in the 2023 Legislature to that effect,which was struck down in the Courts.
in the 2025 Legislature, they passed a similar law, the signing of which was delayed in order to put some time between the first bill’s legal problems and the new one, which they think will be found to be legal under State law.
The Upper Seven Law Firm in Helena, sued to stop the first one and is ready to do the same this time around.
