The Kalispell City Council holds a work session Monday night with 2 main issues on their agenda…keeping in mind that work sessions are for discussion only and no votes are taken nor are there any official actions.
The Council will consider modifications to the agreements they have with the Northwest Montana History Museum and Kidsports. First, the Northwest Montana History Museum maintains the Central School, leasing the property from the city. The Museum Board of Directors would like to own the property in order to qualify for grants and funding sources and so they’re asking the Council to sell the property to the Museum. There are many considerations, including a selling price.
Then, the Council will discuss a request from Roy Beekman to change the official name of the “Kidsports Youth Athletic Complex” to the “Dan Johns Kidsports Complex” in honor of Dan’s leadership in developing the sports fields on Kalispell’s north side.
