He’s been thrown-out of the United States 4-times…perhaps the 5th will be the last. 46-year old Baldemar Duarte-Nieto had his day in Federal Court in Missoula. Nieto’s rap-sheet includes convictions for assault with a weapon, carjacking, conspiracy, bringing control substances into a prison and false statements. The last time he was removed from the country was November 2021.
Here’s the local connection: back in June, he led Flathead Deputies on a high-speed chase down South Meridian Road, crashing his car into a tree at 5th Avenue West. On that stretch of road, which included Peterson School, speeds of 80-mph were clocked by deputies. In District Court, he plead guilty to felony criminal endangerment, receiving a 5-year suspended sentence.
These days, he’s in the Missoula County Jail awaiting sentencing. Federal Judge Donald Molloy will sentencing him in March…could be as much as 10-years before he’s deported the next time.
