The memorials for former Congressman Pat Williams are beginning to come into focus. Pat Williams, Montana’s longest consecutive-serving member of U.S. House of Representatives, died Wednesday at the age of 87.
The former Congressman will lie in state in the State Capitol Rotunda next Wednesday and Thursday, July 2nd and 3rd. On those days, Gov. Greg Gianforte has ordered all flags in the state to half staff.
The next day, Williams’ family will have a private burial in Butte. The rest of us will be able to honor the man who served our state for so many years, in the Legislature, in Congress, and on the Board of Regents at a celebration of his life which will be in the Dennison Theater on the University of Montana Campus, where he was a professor, Tuesday afternoon, July 15th at 4:00.
