Leaving behind a quarter-century legacy, Flathead Valley Community College President Jane Karas plans to retire at the end of this year. The Board of Trustees Chair Callie Langohr tells us, “Her legacy is measured not just in buildings and programs, but in the countless lives she has helped shape through her commitment to accessible, high-quality education.”
Jane Karas has been at FVCC for 27-years, 25 of those as the College’s President. In that time, the college has grown from 4-buildings to 13, including the Trades Institute, the Arts & Technology Building, the Rebecca Cheney Broussard Center for Nursing and Allied Health, the Broussard Family Library, Founders Hall student housing, the Wachholz College Center and the Wachholz Innovation & Entrepreneurship Center. All this sits on the college’s 200-acre footprint.
Keeping a college education affordable and accessible, the FVCC Foundation has raised over $109-million for student scholarships.
A national search for FVCC’s next president will begin soon.
