Gov. Greg Gianforte visited Kalispell’s The Ranchers Daughter Wednesday morning, soon after he talked with John & Robin on the KGEZ Good Morning Show. On Glacier Banks Community Conversations, the Governor expressed the urgency of getting long-term, permanent Property Tax Reform, as Montana’s 69th Legislature’s days dwindle down. The Regular Session is scheduled to end on or before Monday, May 5th.
He told us, “Montanans sent us to Helena with a clear mission. …homeowners, small businesses, and renters are overdue for relief.”
The Ranchers Daughter on East Idaho Street in Kalispell, specializes in locally-produced farm-to-table produce and frozen Montana meat. The co-owner, Grayson Buckner, tells us, “We want to support local ranchers and offer one location for consumers to stop where they can feel comfortable to know where their food is coming from – buying local is not always easy. …Business expansions can be nerve-wracking when costs continuously go up – both on our property taxes here at this location, and on our cost-of-living from an employee and employer standpoint.”
KGEZ 20-20 News continues to monitor the progress of several bills aimed at reducing property taxes as the legislature moves towards sine die.
