This past year, at the NW Montana Fair’s Livestock Show and Sale, several buyers of 4-H/FFA animals were able to donate the meat to non-profit organizations, because of the Producer Partnership. This non-profit group, out of Livingston, donates the processing of the meat, which makes it possible for other non-profit organizations to accept and distribute it to needy families.
In the past 5-years, the Producer Partnership has processes nearly 350,000 of animal protein, some of which is in the freezers at the Flathead County Agency on Aging in Kalispell.
Just this week, Gov. Greg Gianforte donated 25% of his annual salary to the Producer Partnership so that they could continue to provide this valuable service. Much of the meat products processed by the Producer Partnership is distributed to the Montana Food Bank Network.
