Flying in and out of Glacier Park International Airport next July — that’s July 2026 — will be limited to weekends. Our airport has only one active runway and it’s in need of repairs, which will take about 3 weeks next year…beginning July 6th.
One might say, “It’s a bit like trying to paint your swimming pool with the water still in it.”
Airport Director Rob Ratkowski tells us the last time the runway was resurfaced was 16 years ago and the typical life span for a runway is 15 to 20 years.
He says they’re already working with the airlines to schedule their flights accordingly next July. It’s the weather in NW Montana that makes July the ideal time to do these runway repairs.
