The first week of the General Hunting Season brought a good deal of success for NW Montana hunters. Nearly 2,000-hunters checked-through the 4-FWP Check Stations. The most successful hunters checked-through the Hwy 93-Olney checkpoint, with 487-hunters showing a 15.6% success rate.
The Hwy 200-Thompson Falls checkpoint logged 264-hunters with an 11% success rate, including 14-elk. The Hwy 83-Swan Lake check-station saw 210-hunters with a 9.5% success-rate. At the Hwy2-West Kalispell check station, 487-hunters reported a 8.4% success rate.
