A man remains in critical condition suffering from severe burns in that fire that brought every Fire Department in the Valley to the Timberland Firewood Company on Helena Flats Road Tuesday night. He is Timberland employee Aaron Walker, who was life flighted to Salt Lake City’s specialized burn facility. A GoFundMe page has been set up by his friends and family.
By early Wednesday afternoon, firefighters had the fire contained, even though flames continued to burn inside the concrete foundation of the building. Fighting this blaze was a massive effort, including upwards of 75-firefighters, 20-fire engines and 3-latter trucks. A dozen tankers had to draw water from hydrants at Glacier Park International Airport and the nearby hotel, transporting their loads to the fire engines at the scene.
We have no word on what might have caused such a blaze. We’re told about 10-Timberland Firewood Company employees are out of their jobs. Timberland is a subsidiary of Lodi, California’s Hot Wood. The property damage could mount up into the millions of dollars.
