High School Levy Ballots Due Tuesday Night

Everyone has been getting involved in the efforts to pass a Kalispell High School District levy–something that been illusive for the District for over 17 years. Flathead High School students have formed “One Brave Pack,” walking the streets, knocking on doors,  and telling their story.  Two of them, Glacier High School’s Jason Lee and Flathead High School’s Bronson Willcutts appeared on the KGEZ Good Morning Show with John & Robin in support of the levy.  They pointed out that the last time we passed a High School Levy, they hadn’t even been born yet!

In the time since the last levy passed, the District has been cutting expenses wherever they can up to the point where, from here on, it’s going to be painful. On the KGEZ Good Morning Show, District Superintendent Matt Jensen tells us they’ll need to eliminate 21 full-time positions and make major cuts to the Ag Center, sports, music and theater and speech and debate.

The ballots went out weeks ago.  At this point it’s too late to mail your mail-in ballots, so you’ll need to take them to either Flathead or Glacier High Schools or the Flathead County Elections Office, on North Main Street.
