The Montana Department of Transportation is gearing up to apply finishing touches to the entire length of the Hwy 93 Bypass. The “pavement preservation project” is designed to extend the life of the roadway, preventing cracks and worn-down pavement.
The 8-week Bypass project begins Monday, April 28th, which includes chip-seal, followed by fog-seal–a special oil sprayed onto the road surface. After a month, the chip seal will cure and crews will re-do the lane roadway striping.
As much as possible, work will be done in the overnights, but towards the end of the project, work will have to be done during daylight hours. The plan is to complete sections at a time with flaggers in-place to provide guidance.
