Those who drive Hwy 82 between Somers and Bigfork are familiar with the big “S” turn and the narrow Sportsman Bridge. It’s about to be replaced with a safer approach and a wider bridge. One of the aspects of the project is moving the Fishing Access area to the other side of the Flathead River…the west side.
We’ve been anticipating this for some time but now we’ll have to endure the traffic issues during construction, which begins in a couple of weeks. Workers will be on-site weekdays from 7AM to 6PM. The project is slated for completion sometime in the next 18 months.
Tuesday, August 5th, we’ll get our first look at plans developed by the Montana Department of Transportation in conjunction with FWP. It’s an open house in the Community Room at Bigfork High School from 3:30 to 6:30.
