Last week, several former state elected officials banded together in an attempt to get the so-called Dark Money out of our elections. The group, operating under the non-profit organization “Transparent Elections Initiative,” is headed by former Commissioner of Political Practices Jeff Mangen along with former Governors Mark Racicot and Steve Bullock, and former Senator Jon Tester.
They play to get a Constitutional Initiative on the November 2026 ballot that’ll change the State’s corporate chargers to explicitly prohibit corporations from donating to campaigns. And, it would apply the same law to out-of-state corporations.
We’ll open the discussion with Former Senator Jon Tester tomorrow morning at 7:20 on Glacier Banks Community Conversations. Also on the show, conversations with Democratic Party State Chair Robyn Driscoll at 9:10 and at 9:30, Flathead Lake Biological Station Director Jim Elser.
