In Lincoln County, they’re finally free of having to boil their domestic water, but the loss of 9-bridges from that atmospheric river last month continues to be difficult for area residents. So far, County Emergency Management Dir. Boyd White says they’ve identified 2-bridges that are in dire need of immediate attention.
The Lower Granite Creek bridge, south and east of Libby, averages 334 crossings per day. Likewise, the Lake Creek Bridge, spanning Keeler Creek–north of Bull Lake off Hwy 56, averages 100-crossings daily.
The bridge over the Farm to Market Road–southeast of Libby, is being dealt with by the Montana Department of Transportation.
Gov. Greg Gianforte is asking FEMA for $16.3-million to effect the replacements. The State has already committed $16-million to Lincoln County’s bridges.
