Logan Health’s Primary Care Providers have informed the National Labor Relations Board that they wish to unionize. Their choice is the Union of American Physicians & Dentists, an organization representing over 7,000 physicians, dentists and advanced practice clinicians with more than 30-bargaining units.
We’re told about 55-Primary Care physicians, nurse practitioners and advanced practice providers from Logan Health clinics have joined-in on the unionizing effort. They feel that the primary-care system needs to return to a more patient-centered model of care, reflecting the Planetree principles of compassion, respect and partnership.
The UAPD’s organizer Alexandria Honey tells us Logan Health has lost about 20-primary care providers in the past couple of years…mostly because of increased patient loads.
