The CDC says measles is making a big comeback across the nation, with over 800-cases confirmed across 25-states. Here in the Flathead, so far we’ve managed to escape those statistics, but those days may be numbered.
In the Bozeman area, their City-County Health Department reports 5-confirmed cases. We’re being told the people infected–both adults and children, were exposed while traveling out-of-state. But, that ends 35-years of no cases reported in Montana.
Locally, calls have been coming into the Flathead City-County Health Department, mostly wondering if an update in the MMR vaccine is needed. The answer can be found in their Self-Assessment Page. Those born before 1957 are assumed to have had a dose of the measles and, therefore don’t need to be vaccinated.
