At long last, Columbia Falls will have a City Manager next Tuesday. Retired Navy Captain Eric Hanks takes over from Interim City Manager and retired Police Chief Clint Peters.
Before his retirement, Eric Hanks was the commanding officer at the Naval Air Station on Whidbey Island, north of Seattle.
It’s been over a year since longtime City Manager Susan Nicosia retired. In that time, the Council has come close to hiring several candidates, only to have negotiations fail for a variety of reasons.
