The clock has just about run out for REAL ID. Even though Montanans have been resisting it, Wednesday, May 7th is the end of the line. The Department of Homeland Security says this is it…and this time, they mean it!
Appearing on the KGEZ Good Morning Show, the TSA’s Lorie Dankers told John & Robin that, even though we haven’t had a serious terrorist incident since 9/ll, the threat remains. REAL ID is the best method that the TSA has to make sure the person with the boarding pass is the person who purchased it.
Getting your REAL ID is pretty easy. Make your DMV appointment and bring with you a government-certified document with your legal name and date of birth. If your name has changed from your original, bring along documentation to support that. One more thing, something to prove your Montana residency…if the address on your current drivers license is up-to-date, you’re set. And, be prepared to pay an extra $25 for your license.
