All but one of the active long-term construction projects will shut-down for the winter. Only work on the Sportsman’s Bridge, on Hwy 82 will continue through the winter. As weather permits, crews will be working on the bridge’s foundation, including piers in the Flathead River. The Montana Department of Transportation doesn’t anticipate traffic disruptions, although the 35-mph speed limit through the area remains.
The “big one”, Reserve Drive between Hutton Ranch Road and the Whitefish Stage Road will pause for the winter, resuming in the spring.
The expansion work on Hwy 93 just west of Whitefish will be discontinued through the winter months, resuming in the spring.
The work on Hhy 93 at Treeline Road and Wyoming Street is essentially complete. The only thing left is lane markers, while will have to wait until spring.
