Two dogs who broke through the ice on the south end of Flathead Lake are doing well after a very cold swim. First reported around 10:00 Monday morning, the dogs were out on the ice near Kings Point when the broke through he thin ice.
Lake County Search & Rescue were called-in. Using a boat the found some open water and headed out towards where the dogs were last seen. Meanwhile, 4-rescuers, using protective gear, moved cautiously across the ice, finding the dogs had found some open water and began swimming ashore.
The dogs were returned to their owners.
