It was a deadly weekend on NW Montana Highways.
Early Saturday morning, a fiery, 2-vehicle crash on Hwy 93 at Big Arm has left one person dead and one in the hospital. The Montana Highway Patrol reports the fatality is a 22-year-old woman from Lake Elmo. She was driving a Jeep Wrangler, crashing into a semi carrying jet fuel. It exploded. The truck driver, a 50-year-old man from Kalispell, is in the hospital.
And then, Sunday afternoon, another head-on crash on Montana Highway 35 and the Columbia Fall Stage Road, just east of Kalispell. A 38-year-old man from Columbia Falls, driving a Chevy Equinox, died in the crash. He apparently crossed the center line, slamming into a Dodge Ram, driven by a 41-year-old woman from Columbia Falls. She and her passenger, a 46-year-old man from Columbia Falls, were taken to Logan Health Medical Center.
