Voters Decide On Big Mountain District Resort Tax

The Big Mountain Resort Area District, which includes Whitefish Mountain Resort, may decide to tax themselves a 3% Resort Tax. The mail-in ballots are out and due-back by Tuesday, January 21st.
Included in the area, besides the homes and businesses at Whitefish Mountain Resort, is the Big Mountain Fire District. State Law requires a portion of any Resort Tax to reduce property taxes, which are substantial up on the Big Mountain.
