The Flathead County Commissioners, at their regular Thursday meeting, unanimously approved a resolution asking voters to approve a $105-million bond issue to build a new County Public Safety Facility. State law requires the vote, and the ballot language, to be approved unanimously.
If approved by voters, the $105-million will design, construct, furnish and equip the new facility, housing the Detention Center and the Sheriff’s Office.
And so, on November 4th, we’ll all be deciding if we want to tax ourselves to pay for this 20-year bond. The estimated annual addition to your tax bill will be $11.13 for a home valued at $100,000, $33.38 for a $300,000 home and $76.72 for a home valuation of $600,000.
This will be an all mail-in election, with ballots sent to registered voters on October 17th.
