The Flathead Warming Center on North Meridian Road in Kalispell is operating at full capacity under a preliminary injunction from Federal Court Judge Dana Christensen. This will continue until the conclusion of the federal lawsuit with the City of Kalispell. Legal assistance is being provided pro bono by the Institute for Justice, a non-profit law firm with offices in Washington, DC and Austin, Texas.
While they await their day in court, the Warming Center is reaching out to local community stakeholders with a “Community Connection Guide.”
Warming Center Executive Director Tonya Horn is working to create collaboration with the Kalispell City Council, the Police Department, and the local community. She tells us they’re happy to welcome anyone who wishes to tour the Warming Center and learn about the services they’re providing to our most vulnerable citizens.
